Tell us about your sport, your venue and the decisions you want better data for. We’ll get back to you to arrange a conversation.
What we’ll talk about
- 01Your sport and competition
- 02Your venues: stadium, training ground, rehab area
- 03How you use movement data today
- 04The questions you want answered, from match demands to return to play
- 05What a sensible first step would look like
Helpful to have ready
It helps to know which systems you use now (wearables, a tracking feed, testing equipment), who would use the data (performance, medical, analysis), and any timings, such as when budgets are set or the season starts. If you don’t have all of that yet, that’s fine.
What should our team prepare for a demo?
Your sport and venues, the systems you use today, who would use the data, and the questions you most want answered.
What happens after we submit an enquiry?
We'll email you to arrange a call. Submitting the form doesn't book an appointment.
Can the demo use our own data?
If your competition already works with Sportlight, we can often use your own match data in the demo.
What is Sportlight?
Sportlight is a UK sports technology company. Its LiDAR tracking system measures how players move in stadiums, on training grounds and in rehab, and turns that into physical performance data for clubs and leagues.
Does Sportlight require athletes to wear tracking devices?
No. Fixed LiDAR sensors and cameras do the measuring, so players wear nothing. On match day, every player on the pitch is recorded, including the opposition.
Which sports do you support?
Professional football is our established sport. We also work with professional teams in basketball and baseball.
How quickly is data available?
Match data is typically ready within one to two hours of the final whistle. Isolated rehab sessions are ready within 30 to 60 minutes.
Is the data live?
No. Data is processed after each match or session and delivered to the portal. Wearables remain the tool for live monitoring during training.
How does Sportlight compare with GPS and optical tracking?
Each starts from a different measurement. GPS relies on satellite signals reaching a device on the player's upper back. Optical systems reconstruct position from camera images. LiDAR measures the distance to each player directly. Each has strengths, and we explain them in our comparison.
